Registering with LSSG
We welcome all stroke survivors to join our programs. To register, we ask that new participants schedule an appointment at our office. Please contact us at (956) 775-5774 or through email at knowstroke956@gmail.com
We understand the grave medical expenses and the life-altering circumstances survivors face. There is no fixed timeline for recovery, which is why all of our activities and therapy sessions are offered completely free of charge.
Transportation should not be a barrier to participation. We work with survivors to accommodate their needs, including assistance with Metro bus passes and referrals to the Laredo Health Promotores, who offer transportation to individuals living in select zip codes.

Volunteering with LSSG
Our volunteers bring great energy and compassion to our program. They continue to enrich the services we provide, and we are grateful to the students and community members who give their time to support stroke survivors.
A few hours a week makes a lasting impact.
We welcome:
-
College and post-graduate volunteers seeking clinical and community service experience — ideal for those preparing for careers in healthcare or public service (medicine, nursing, physician assistant, speech pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and many more professions). Volunteers gain a unique perspective on healthcare outside of a hospital or office setting and have the opportunity to practice both conversational and medical Spanish while engaging directly with survivors and caregivers.
-
Adults of all ages who feel called to contribute their time, compassion, skills, or are interested in hosting events/workshops/services that benefit our survivors. We are constantly searching for opportunities that will aid the recovery process, increase social independence, and remind stroke survivors that they are not alone.
Volunteers assist with speech teletherapy, weekly activities, and community events such as health fairs, fundraisers, art shows, etc. For more details on roles and responsibilities, please read our Volunteer Manual below.
If you would like to join us, contact us by phone at (956) 775 5774 or email at knowstroke956@gmail.com — we’ll be happy to connect with you.
